I was back in Coventry yesterday for another visit to Warwick university. The weather made for a very pleasant drive down, and the traffic was light enough for me to make good time. The meeting was a productive one, and I've now seen the bits of the site that were not available for us to view at the last meeting (as I was absent from the last Ayacon in 2005 I am not as familiar with the site as I would like to be). Now he programme is starting to fall into place and we have been discussing which rooms will be use to run which events the convention is starting to feel more imminent (a little over ten weeks to go). I'm really looking forward to it - I've not been to an Anime con larger than Minami since the last Northampton Aya, and it's been even longer since I was heavily involved in the running of an event (mostly I pitch in when I'm needed, and enjoy the social side the rest of the time). It's going to be fun :)

I was thinking I might start going to anime cons again. Has the bubble burst enough that we can show fansubs yet?

The bubble's fairly intact, which on balance is a good thing as we wouldn't be able to run such a large con otherwise.

We're getting a lot more help from the distributors these days so the video programme doesn't suffer much from absence of fansubbed material.

Let me know if you're going to be coming along and I'll bring the radios with me rather than posting them.

Hm. So we lost Geneon, ADV imploded, and the industry's still going? Shows me how much attention I'm paying. I was kind of wondering if there'd be no-one left but AnimEigo in a few years' time.

Please post 'em. I doubt I'm really about to stir myself - I still _like_ anime, but I can't really get excited about it recently.

PS: also, I seem to have lost the BNSS tracker again:

Remind me - wally-phones take 3xAA each, or 4xAA, please?

Tracker fixed (and finally configured to start on reboot)

Radios require 3xAA per set (6 sets)
