We had a really fun night out last night at Club Noir, which bills itself as "Glasgow's Premier Burlesque Club".

The club dictates a fairly smart dress code (although as it was their Halloween event they were making allowing fancy dress as well), so we took the opportunity to get done up - [info]ljquin in a gorgeous blue Cheongsum dress, black coat and a little top-hat style fascinator, and myself in my purple brocade waistcoat, black silk cravat, dinner jacket and top-hat.

The capacity crowd had done themselves proud with a whole range of looks from the highly glamorous (silk corsets, tailcoats, hats in all shapes and sizes) to seasonally frivolous (a stylized queen of hearts and one of her cards, several devils and witches, and countless zombies and vampires).

The evening opened with a very varied but well put together DJ set, before the main entertainment which included witty striptease acts, live music and performance art.

All in all a very enjoyable evening, with my only complaint being the chronically slow bar service at times.
